Taking The Test

PunctureOne night four college students stayed out late partying and having a good time.

They forgot they had an exam the next day and celebrated late in to the night, not even thinking of looking at any books or preparing.

In the morning, when reality dawned, they hatched a plan to get out of taking the exam. Covering themselves with grease and dirt they went to the professor’s office.

They said they had been to a wedding the previous night and on the way back they got a puncture and had to push the car home.

The professor listened to their sorry tale and offered them a retest three days later. Relieved and thankful they left the office and got studying.

When the day arrived, they were all put in to separate rooms and the exam paper placed in front of them. They were fine with this and felt confident since they had all studied hard especially as they had been told it was going to a multiple choice exam.

When the moment came to turn the paper over they saw that there were only two questions.

1) Your Name __________ (1 point)

2) Which tyre had the puncture? __________ (99 points)

Options – (a) Front Left (b) Front Right (c) Back Left (d) Back Right

What was the real test that they passed or failed?

Mark Twain commented that “It’s so much easier to tell the truth as then you don’t have to remember anything!” It keeps things simple!

Have a good day
